100 Mozat Ideas

Bringing Positive Changes at Work

Take a sheet of paper, fold it 100 times, its thickness is going to be the same as the radius of the whole universe. Applying the same concept at work, if we are able to bring 100 fundamental changes to our beloved Company, we will become even more competitive in what we do.

Mozat is committed to cultivating a culture and spirit of creativity, innovation and excellence. We are moving toward a common goal where everyone is encouraged to be heard and to contribute in his/her own way.

In line with this, the management is launching "100 MOZAT Ideas", an idea challenge for our employees that aims to challenge them to come up with brilliant ideas for the Company. It can be about revolutionarily improving our product, our services, our team or the way we run things at work. It can be about anything but its impact could be immeasurable!

So this page recognises the exceptional contributors of MOZAT ideas. Thank you and we are so proud of you!

At Mozat, we deeply believe that the only way to build a good product is to follow users and develop a clear and deep understanding of them. We also believe that cultivating a lasting relationship with them in this fast-changing digital world is crucial.

This philosophy has recently been proven true by Eddy in his undertaking to build the largest mobile social gaming community in Saudi Arabia, also known as Shabik 360.

Bringing Friends Closer, Thanks to Yixiang

"MOZAT is keeping friends closer." Yixiang

Location is not only a valuable factor in business like real estate. It is also very valuable in our daily lives. Imagine, what if you could tell if a friend is close to you or someone interesting is just nearby and you could immediately interact with him/her?

However, location-based social services on mobile are available only on a small number of users who have high-end smartphones or GPS-enabled mobile phones.  What about the rest of us who are using different phones or others that don’t own any smartphone?

"MOZAT is an award-winning product. More awards to come!" (Robin)

Mozat has always been an inward-looking Company, where majority of us spend 90% of our time talking or communicating only with our team members or within the organisation. We seldom interact with external parties.

As a result, only a few people know about us. In Singapore, only a handful knows about our existence despite the fact that we are probably the largest mobile development team in the country today.

This has a significant impact on us. How can we attract good talent if people don’t know about us? Fresh grads won’t send in their applications. During the first few times we meet with prospective partners, they would tell us that it’s the first time they’ve heard of us. So we work hard in building our name and gaining their trust. More importantly, mobile users don’t know about our app.

Happy Hour by Xiujuan

"Everyday at 12nn, it's MOZAT Happy Hour." (Xiu Juan)

Apple is a company famous for inventing and creating wonderful products. From the iPod, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air to the iPhone and then the iPad – they never fail to “wow” the world with their innovation.

When asked how this is possible, Apple employees would say, “We build products that we want to use ourselves.” Yes, this is one important practice that has proven to be a success formula for Apple, and it’s one significant lesson for us at Mozat.

Unfortunately, not everyone in our camp is trying out MOZAT everyday. Some of us barely have enough chance to see what’s in our app. Some are too busy with their deadlines, while others are keeping up with their fast-paced work that we sometimes fail to log in.

So Xiu Juan came up with the “MOZAT Happy Hour”, where everyone would put off whatever they’re doing when the clock strikes 12 at noon. For 30 minutes, we would chat with our colleagues, post pictures (mostly office setup, food snaps during lunch or funny pics we get on the net), post inspiring or funny sayings and, simply, play with MOZAT.
